Concepts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Development Principles <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Development is about a systematic approach to growth and progress of the sport.<\/p>\n<p>There are two dimensions to development activities \u2013 \u201cmore\u201d and \u201cbetter\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The resourcing and focus of development activities may focus on \u201c<strong><em>more<\/em><\/strong>\u201d \u2013 more players, more coaches, more tournaments, more technical officials, more administrators and event managers \u2013 and\/or on \u201c<strong><em>better<\/em><\/strong>\u201d \u2013 (better quality or a higher level) \u2013 better players, better coaches, better tournaments, better technical officials, better administrators and event managers.<\/p>\n<p>Development in national badminton systems will work at different levels, emphasising \u201cmore\u201d, \u201cbetter\u201d or a combination of these, as applied to a particular development focus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/education.bwfbadminton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/tokyo-e1477902084847.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1016\"><img loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good long-term planning is central to getting the best out of our investment in development activities and the resources we put towards achieving particular goals.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDevelopment\u201d <\/em>works best through <strong><em>planned<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>structured<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>sustainable<\/em><\/strong> activities and actions which show improvements in:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><em>knowledge<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>skills<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>competencies<\/em><\/strong> of <strong><em>individuals<\/em><\/strong> (<em>athletes, players, technical officials, administrators, event managers<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>structures<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>systems<\/em><\/strong> in our sport (<em>governance and management structures, coach education systems, athlete training systems, event \/ tournament structures, athlete improvement pathways, communication systems and systems to service members, including training resources<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A planned approach ensures that we are able to 1) <strong><em>identify<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>needs<\/em><\/strong>, 2) <strong><em>prioritize<\/em><\/strong> these needs, 3) decide on the <strong><em>focus<\/em><\/strong> and the <strong><em>objectives <\/em><\/strong>of development activities, and 4) determine <strong><em>quantifiable outcomes<\/em><\/strong> to assist us in evaluating the benefit of the activities \u2013 the return on the investment \u2013 time, competencies<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>better <strong><em>understanding<\/em><\/strong> of, and <strong><em>approaches<\/em><\/strong> to, the way we work<\/li>\n<li>positive <strong><em>attitudes<\/em><\/strong> to change<\/li>\n<li>greater <strong><em>professionalism<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>enhanced <strong><em>quality<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>greater <strong><em>efficiency <\/em><\/strong>in how we do things<\/li>\n<li>better <strong><em>access<\/em><\/strong> to <strong><em>resources <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>improved <strong><em>pathways<\/em><\/strong> for players, coaches, technical officials, administrators and event managers<\/li>\n<li>greater <strong><em>accountability<\/em><\/strong> and the ability to <strong><em>track outcomes \/ progress<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>continuous improvement <\/em><\/strong>\/
