{"id":10210,"date":"2022-06-27T16:37:25","date_gmt":"2022-06-27T09:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/?p=10210"},"modified":"2022-06-27T16:41:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T09:41:35","slug":"airbadminton-debuts-at-special-olympics-usa-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/es\/whats-new\/airbadminton-debuts-at-special-olympics-usa-games","title":{"rendered":"AirBadminton Debuts at Special Olympics USA Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airbadminton.sport\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong>AirBadminton<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a> Activation was held for the first time during the <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/specialolympicsco.org\/usagames\/\">2022 Special Olympics USA Games<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span> in Orlando from 4-8 June, with the aim of growing badminton in the country and making it a permanent fixture of the multi-sport event.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 5,500 athletes and coaches from 63 delegations took part in the activity, a collaboration between <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.specialolympics.org\/regions\/north-america\">Special Olympics North America<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.specialolympics.org\/\">Special Olympics International<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/usabadminton.org\/\">USA Badminton<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>, <em><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.badmintonpanam.org\/\">Badminton Pan American Confederation<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/em> and <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/corporate.bwfbadminton.com\/\">Badminton World Federation<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Featured as a \u201ccome and try\u201d activity in the Athletes Village at Disney\u2019s All-Star Sports Resort, an outdoor space was allocated for participants to try AirBadminton. Exhibition matches of 3 vs 3, 2 vs 2 and 1 vs 1 took place, where AirShuttle 2.0 was used. It performed well in wind and rain.[vc_single_image image=&#8221;10222&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]Participants were also introduced to the inclusive and free BWF resources of the <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.shuttletime.sport\">Shuttle Time Schools Programme<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span> and AirBadminton.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the event\u2019s legacy, AirShuttles, rackets and AirBadminton equipment were donated to Florida, Texas, New York and a representative of the Bahamas.<\/p>\n<p>It was great to see the sport bringing people together, reinforcing the motto that AirBadminton can be played anywhere, anytime and by anyone.
