Uptake for the course, offered by the WAoS and the University of London, is in early February 2025 (<a href=\"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/whats-new\/sports-management-scholarship-programme-2025-for-dual-career-athletes-and-member-association-staff-opens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>) while uptake for the Athlete Certificate course is in early March 2025 (<a href=\"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/whats-new\/education-scholarship-programme-2025-for-young-athletes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>).[vc_column_text]<strong><u>PGC ISM Programme \u2013 September intake<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications closed on 15 June 2025, and BWF received 31 applications from athletes, coaches and Member Association staff from 21 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Selections have been finalised for one full scholarship, two 75 per cent scholarships, six half scholarships and two 25 per cent scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>The full scholarship support is offered to <strong>Kobugabe Husina<\/strong>, player from Uganda.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;13983&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]\u201cI am incredibly honoured and excited to be a full scholar for the PGCert in International Sports Management,\u201d said Husina. \u201cThis opportunity feels like a game-changer, allowing me to gain the skills to manage my career professionally while contributing to the growth of badminton in Uganda. It\u2019s a dream come true and a chance to balance my athletic pursuits with leadership development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Husina said she planned to use the competition experience and knowledge from the programme to help players from her country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith my competition experience and the knowledge from the PGCISM Programme, I plan to mentor emerging badminton players in Uganda, helping them navigate their careers with confidence. I also aim to work with federations to develop structured training programmes and attract sponsorships, using my insights to elevate the sport\u2019s profile and create a lasting impact in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In total, around 44 candidates have now enrolled in the programme since February 2021.
