BWF\u2019s continued commitment towards sport development and peace saw another two orphanages in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, benefit last year.<\/p>\n
Through its collaboration with American Association of Malaysia, BWF donated two dryers and two washing machines worth RM5,500 to Rumah Hope in July.<\/p>\n
Rumah Hope had earlier participated in the BWF Coaching Clinic in conjunction with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace in April 2019.<\/p>\n
An amount of RM3,300 was also donated to Rumah Kasih Harmoni in March 2020.<\/p>\n
Both orphanages were invited to participate in the BWF Coaching Clinic in 2020 but the activities had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.<\/p>\n
BWF Development Officer Erica Khoo said: \u201cLast year, we put in place a plan for a pilot project of delivering a coaching clinic and a Shuttle Time Teachers course to more than four orphanages in Malaysia. This project is aligned with BWF\u2019s Vision of \u2018giving every child a chance to play for life\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, the project was forced to be put on hold due to the pandemic. We are looking to kickstart the project once the situation is much more feasible, hopefully in 2022.\u201d[vc_video link=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/OkV0IymEgjs” align=”center”][vc_column_text]In 2019, BWF hosted the charity coaching clinic with two homes for underprivileged children.
