{"id":9835,"date":"2022-03-17T10:18:27","date_gmt":"2022-03-17T03:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/?p=9835"},"modified":"2022-03-17T10:20:26","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T03:20:26","slug":"new-batch-benefits-from-bwf-para-badminton-development-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/es\/whats-new\/new-batch-benefits-from-bwf-para-badminton-development-programme","title":{"rendered":"New Batch Benefits from BWF Para Badminton Development Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since 2017, over 70 female Para badminton athletes from more than 40 countries have been beneficiaries of the BWF Female Participation Grant.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/development.bwfbadminton.com\/whats-new\/bwf-para-badminton-development-programmes-in-2022\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><strong>In January 2022<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a>, BWF opened the new cycle of application for the grant, which offers female athletes opportunities to apply for financial support to attend and be Internationally Classified at a number of BWF-sanctioned international tournaments in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>At the close of deadline, 43 applications from 29 countries were received<\/p>\n<p>All applications are reviewed by the BWF Classifier Team and then an email confirmation have sent to the Member Associations.[vc_btn title=&#8221;Three recipients of the grant made their first international appearances at the Spanish Para Badminton International II 2022.&#8221; color=&#8221;primary&#8221; i_icon_fontawesome=&#8221;far fa-thumbs-up&#8221; add_icon=&#8221;true&#8221; link=&#8221;url:https%3A%2F%2Fdevelopment.bwfbadminton.com%2Fwhats-new%2Ffemale-participation-grant-breaks-new-ground|target:_blank&#8221;][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;9713,9712,9733&#8243;][vc_btn title=&#8221;More information on the BWF Female Participation Grant&#8221; color=&#8221;primary&#8221; link=&#8221;url:https%3A%2F%2Fdevelopment.bwfbadminton.com%2Finclusivity%2Ffemale-participation-grant|target:_blank&#8221;][vc_column_text]On top of that, the first BWF Para badminton National Level 1 Classifier Workshop 2022 was held in Vitoria, Spain in conjunction with the BWF Para badminton Spanish International II 2022. The workshop was delivered by BWF International Classifier Experts, Dr Shamsul Azhar (Malaysia) and Becky Bailey (England) from 27 February to 1 March.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 12 participants from India, England, Spain, Slovenia, Italy, Sweden, Colombia and Venezuela attended the workshop. The participants included member association staff, coaches, physiotherapists, players, technical officials and medical doctors.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;9837,9838,9840,9841,9843&#8243;][vc_column_text]\u201cThis was the first time I had led a National Course and I enjoyed the chance to explain how we classify our players to compete in Para badminton events. There were lots of interesting questions the participants asked, and we were able to show examples for each category. We hope the participants now have a greater understanding of the BWF Classification process to help them identify and classify their new national players.\u201d \u2013 Becky Bailey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough my participation in the workshop, I have learned many technical aspects in the medical field with different disabilities and their limitations.
