Ten female coaches from various countries, including Barbados, Brazil and Iran participated in the Female Coach Mentor Programme at the World Coaching Conference during the BWF World Championships 2023 in Copenhagen. Supported by Olympic Solidarity and BWF, the programme aims to empower female coaches, fostering leadership and gender balance. Dr. Sawsan Mohammed Taqawi, Chair of BWF’s Gender Equity & Diversity Commission, spoke of the importance of female role models in coaching and governance while Dr. David Cabello, Chair of the Development & Sport for All Committee, highlighted the value of professional development in badminton.
