Sport Science

The BWF recognises that sport science plays an important role in developing and promoting the sport through badminton-related research. It offers a scientific support and approach in the development of the sport in areas such as injury prevention, inclusive badminton, physical activity, player performance, coaching performance, Para badminton, dual career, sustainability and many more.

Over the years, the BWF has supported a variety of badminton related research programmes and projects. This includes the annual BWF Research Grants programme, Global Badminton Research project and Global Health Badminton Study. These programmes and projects are overseen by the BWF Sport Science and Medical Research Commission.

The BWF is also actively involved in sport science activities relating to racket sport. This includes jointly organising the 6th World Congress of Racket Sport Science and supporting the International Journal of Racket Sport Science.
