Latest BWF Coach Education Level 3 course delivered

July 21, 2022

The latest BWF Coach Education Level 3 course was recently held at Badminton Europe’s Centre of Excellence in Holbaek, Denmark from 1–6 June. Level 3 is BWF’s highest coaching course, aimed at very experienced coaches with a good understanding of their national systems.

The course gave 15 participants from across Europe the chance to challenge their ideas about coaching, through a combination of theory discussions and on-court application. Also included were, in-depth discussions among candidates and tutors examining how players come into and progress through a national system, as well as how to work with those players who make it through to the elite level, in order to support top performance.

The course was over six intensive days and covered areas like talent identification and development, talent pathways, how players learn, the role of communication and other aspects of working with elite shuttlers.  After returning home, candidates must carry out a long-term project in which they will apply what they learned not only to their coaching, but also their national talent development systems.
