In October 2019, the BWF Council approved a new Membership Grants Programme for the period 2020-2024. The BWF Membership Grant Programme provides opportunities for Member Associations to access tailored support, to assist them in developing badminton in their country.
Sport Industry Scholarship Programme 2020 for Dual Career Athletes, Member Association Staff & Young Athletes
Badminton World Federation in partnership with the World Academy of Sport (WaoS) had launched two scholarship programmes that will provide dual career athletes, who have chosen a joint educational and elite sporting life, and talent already employed within the badminton family, greater opportunities to learn new skills.
Manashi Joshi: Shining a Light on Gender and Disability
Manashi Joshi is India’s current Para badminton world champion and BBC India’s Sportswoman of the year. She claimed the World Championships gold in Basel last year and is set on the road to the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020 (postponed to 2021).

BWF Research Grants 2020-2021
In February 2020, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) published a public application process for research projects, which aim to improve the level and quantity of scientific material available to coaches and badminton practitioners, as well as to increase the players’ and coaches’ knowledge of performance and safety at international level.
