Since the launch of AirBadminton in 2019, and its rapid rise in popularity, the game will make its debut at the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 in Bali, Indonesia, from 5 to 12 August 2023.

The AirBadminton competition will be held at an exciting venue at Jimbaran Beach from 6 to 9 August 2023.

The announcement of AirBadminton’s inclusion at the Games was made in August 2022 by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and BWF.  AirBadminton was chosen based on its unique characteristics of being easily accessible, environmentally sustainable, inclusive and a popular spectator sport.  This year’s edition of the ANOC World Beach Games will include 1,500 athletes from over 100 countries, competing in 14 different sports.

72 athletes (36 men and 36 women) from five Continents will partake in the AirBadminton competition in Bali, contending for four medal events: Men’s Triples, Women’s Triples, Mixed Doubles, and the Mixed Team Relay.

The ANOC World Beach Games is a global multi-sport event involving beach and water sports at a highly competitive level.  A biennial gathering, the Games were first hosted in Qatar, in 2019 with the second edition postponed to 2023 in Bali due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  ANOC, describes the games as “A young and inclusive event that combines the informality and vibrancy of the beach with elite sport to create highly attractive Games. It is the only global youth-centric festival of beach, water and action sports, created specifically for the benefit of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and their athletes.”
