
John Shearer, BWF Head of Continental Development and Fern Gilders, BWF Head of Tournament Development, lead the administration workshop; experienced Para badminton coaches Kaity Hall, Dina Abouzeid, Guillaume Gailly and Letisson Samarone led the players camp and the coach education course, while BWF Classifier Vivian Salazar led the Para badminton classifiers workshop.
The participating countries were: Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, and USA.
The event was led by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and had the support of International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Americas Paralympic Committee (APC), Badminton Pan Am Confederation (BPAC), Mexico Paralympic Committee (COPAME) and Mexico Badminton Federation (FEMEBA).
The workshop began with an opening ceremony attended by BWF Council Member Pilar Carrillo; John Shearer and Fern Gilders from BWF; APC Projects Manager Adriana Rincon, Liliana Suarez, president of COPAME; Javier Orozco, Vice President of Badminton Pan Am and President of FEMEBA; Olga Muñoz, Vice President of Badminton Pan Am; German Valdez, BPAC COO; Para badminton world champion Pilar Jauregui; Alan Lima, representative of CONADE and Covadonga Gomez, representative of the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guerrero.
