February 4, 2025
Badminton World Federation (BWF), in collaboration with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), has launched a new cycle of scholarships for the Postgraduate Certificate in International Sports Management offered by the WAoS and the University of London.
The programme provides unique opportunities for dual-career athletes who have chosen to pursue their education alongside their elite sporting career. It also offers talent the chance to learn new skills to those already employed in the badminton family.
30 candidates have been enrolled in the programme since February 2021. The students range from Olympians, Paralympians, current and former athletes, to Member Association staff.
For the September 2025 cycle, BWF and WAoS are offering similar educational opportunities, with one fully funded scholarship, and 10 25 per cent scholarships.
The course is 100 per cent online, can be completed over a period of up to five years, recognising that athletes and industry professionals require varying levels of learning at different stages in their careers to balance their working lives.
