International School Sport Federation (ISF) and BWF delivered a variety of badminton activities (competition, activation and development) at the 2nd ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2023–World School Sport Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 19-27 August.

BWF has introduced the Coach Education Equivalency process, ensuring a unified coaching standard across Member Associations.
Female Coaches Experience Mentor Programme
Ten female coaches from various countries, including Barbados, Brazil and Iran participated in the Female Coach Mentor Programme at the World Coaching Conference during the BWF World Championships 2023 in Copenhagen.
BWF World Coaching Conference 2023
The two-day BWF World Coaching Conference, held during the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2023, was a platform for the expression of ideas and sharing of knowledge on various aspects of badminton, besides providing an opportunity to question long-held beliefs. Around 120 coaches from 44 Member Associations participated.
Sport Science Research Grant Projects
The Sport Science Research Grant Programme 2023/24 received 63 applications between 1 March and 1 May 2023, selected 17 projects across key research areas, including Badminton Performance, Physical Activity & Wellbeing, Injury Prevention & Medical, and Para badminton/Inclusive badminton.
In Cook Islands’ Debut, A Shuttle Time Success Story
The BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships 2023 marks a landmark for Cook Islands as they make their debut at a BWF event. Their participation is a Shuttle Time success story, for all six members of the team have come up through BWF’s flagship schools programme.

The SL4 player’s journey from able-bodied badminton to becoming a celebrated Pan Am Para badminton champion is a testament to his dedication and resilience. And now, he is ready to embark on the next chapter of his life through the BWF-WAoS scholarship, enrolling in the Postgraduate Certificate of International Sport Management programme.
BWF continues CSR outreach
As continuation of its legacy-building efforts in Malaysia, BWF conducted a coaching clinic for 30 children from two orphanages at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology (TARUMT), Kuala Lumpur, on 24 June 2023.
