BWF Sport Science Research Grant Programme 2022/23 – Applications Open

The BWF Sport Science Research Grants programme provides the opportunity for research institutions and individual researchers to apply for research grants to assist in the funding of applied sport science research in badminton.

Since its inception in 2013, the BWF has supported more than 90 badminton research projects globally across the different areas such as biomechanics, physiology, sport psychology, performance analysis, sport injuries/injury prevention, sports engineering and technology, sport sociology and youth development.

In this year’s funding, the BWF is particularly interested in the following areas of studies:

  1. Badminton for physical activity and well-being  
  2. Inclusive badminton (people with disabilities/gender inclusivity/underprivileged and vulnerable communities/older adults)
  3. Injury Prevention (BWF Consensus Project developed – pending review)
  4. Dual career for badminton players  
  5. Sustainability in badminton (methodology for: players advocacy / badminton events sustainability – materials, processes and legacy)

The online application is currently OPEN and the deadline would be 30th May 2022.
